Live From Lonely Bunker- Good as New

Posted by Jay Stewart on

The next song in this world famous series is (drum roll) GOOD AS NEW!  Of course maybe calling it world famous is a stretch. I released it an hour ago and it has exactly 34 views on YouTube. I've been learning how to play the songs on this album and today is the first day I'm going to hit an open mic and see how bad I can screw it up in public. I've played hundreds of shows with a band but have almost no experience performing as a solo musician. I guess we'll see how it goes.  Here's the...

When I record these songs to be released, I don't play and sing them at the same time. I first record the piano parts and then record the vocals after. Doing things this way allows me to get recordings done quickly with good performance. The problem with doing things this way is that I walk away from the recording process not really knowing how to play the songs at all. Though I have recorded 40 minutes of music for my LP Daytime Lullaby (available for pre-order *wink* *wink*) I couldn't play a show to save my life.  It's time to change...

Win a Signed "Daytime Lullaby" Test Pressing

These beautiful plain looking records arrived at my apartment today. They contain the vast majority of my creative output over the last 5 months, so it's been a pretty awesome experience to put one on the record player for the first time. I'm listening through for the second time as I'm writing this. It's slightly odd to be releasing something as a solo artist. Usually there are some high fives and shots taken with a band in moments like this, but that's not really the case this this time around. I take that back... hold please.  High five given to...
